HOW 'THE ORDINARY' CHANGED MY SKIN

Finding skincare that works for you can seem like an impossible task. From my experience, the amount of money I have spent on recommended skincare that simply did nothing is painful. So when you find THE product, it's exciting.

To start off, my skin is very sensitive with delightful acne popping up whenever I'm stressed, hormonal or if there's a change in environment. So being a University student living between two cities means that my skins not always great.

My first Ordinary skincare item I ever bought was the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, after reviews that this can transform your skin from textured and dry to smooth and hydrated. What more could you want? Well not only does it do this, it clears any acne I have overnight. The only downfall is sometimes it can ball up under your makeup if you haven't given it time to sink in, but at the price of £5.90, how can anyone complain?

The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a new purchase from me, having only used this for around a week I have figured that although it claims to minimise spots, it's best used where you accumulate your pores, reducing the size of them and really soothes your skin.

The most well-known product is the AHA 30% + BHA 30% peeling solution. Now, I have use this at least once a week before bed without fail. It's magical, after using your skin feels brighter and helps reduce blemishes and dullness. Although some of my friends claim it burns far too much but if you're like me and will push through the pain to get good results, you'll love it.

For cleansers, the Squalane Cleanser is one that I have grown to love, work onto dry skin the oils will lift up makeup and general dirt, followed by a foam cleanser to get the excess oil out. This is a game changer and leaves your skin shining!

High-Adherence Silicone Primer is a product from The Ordinary that I wasn't expecting to love! It creates a smooth, pore-less base that your foundation will just slide onto. It's hydrating factors give the perfect airbrushed look we all want to achieve.

Some of the products from The Ordinary that I enjoy using but don't love as much as the others include, the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, which I enjoy and leaves no extra blemishes but this doesn't give me nearly as much moisture as I would like. There's the Salicylic Acid 2% Masque which I like but tends to break me out a lot the day after, which then gets better but I would choose the peeling solution over this.

I don't know any other brand which contains this many excellent products, but these acids do increase your skins sensitivity to the sun which can be a big factor for a lot of consumers. Shop all these products on Cult Beauty or ASOS, they're all cheap and cheerful!
